So, is it over yet?

Um. Yes. It was over on July 27, actually.

So, did you finish?

Er... define finish.

So, you didn't finish.

Well, I picked a somewhat unrealistic goal on purpose! Aim high! That's my motto.

You don't have a motto.

I do so have a motto. That's just not it.

So what was your goal, again?

To finish the first draft of the novel I have been working on since February.

And what did you accomplish?

I wrote 20,000 additional words on the computer, plus uncounted handwritten words. Also, I completed the timeline/outline of the major scenes.

Okay. So, why didn't you finish the first draft?

Because it turned out that "every spare moment for six weeks" wasn't quite enough time to finish that particular novel. It's a big novel. Lots of special effects.

Novels don't have special effects.

Sure they do. You have to invent history and culture and technology and slang and figure out how the magic works and stuff like that. And also research tsunamis and tornados.

Okay, so, what happens now? Are you still working on the novel? Do I still have to pay up?

Yes. I am still working on the novel. I hope to finish the first draft soon, since I really need to do the dishes and stuff. And yes. Clarion West still requires your money.

Do I still have to buy you sushi?

No, I have already been bought sushi by my parents. Thanks for all the fish!
